Community Service | Service Learning
Our community service project is a student organized and led 5k that helps raise money for the charity organization Wounded Warrior Project that provides resources to wounded military personnel. Students, with guidance from teachers, helped organize the where, when, and what time. Student and teacher volunteers will also work the water stations, check-in, and the average pace station. Students can acknowledge the sacrifices that veterans have made in recent years and in past wars that have allowed them to live in the country they do today. Students will get to apply their knowledge of mathematics learned recently and in previous grades through the average pace station. Students will also get to interact with veterans and all veterans or active service members of any military branch will run for free. Our students are excited to raise this money for members of our community struggling to heal and reintegrate into civilian society. They have thoroughly enjoyed organizing the event and really look forward to you support.
