English Language Arts

Outline

This ten day outline is designed to go along with an integrated unit on World War II, and specifically focuses on English language arts. Lessons are designed to push students to dig deeper into the history of WWII and the lasting impact it has not only left on the United States, but on the world at large. By promoting global learning, students will gain perspectives and insight on the diverse impacts of war. Through analysis and discussion, students are challenged to question where we would be without WWII and the lasting connections it has left us. Students will also explore prominent figures and events of this time to help them better understand the context of the time this unit focuses on.

To meet the developmental needs of adolescent students, this outline aims to guide students through lessons and activities that are both meaningful and engaging to their academic experience. Through connecting WWII to the world and their lives today, this outline ensures relevancy to students as they learn about a time in history. Diverse materials and mediums used for instruction help to add variety to the classroom, which furthers the engagement and creativity of students. To end, the overall goal of this outline is to foster the academic achievement and personal growth of all students.
